Leisure Facilities
Snorkeling
Guests can follow the Meeru Snorkeling Trail which is located in the lagoon at the northern tip of the island. A map of the snorkeling trail is placed by the beach at the Meeru Village Reception and other strategic locations around the island.
Snorkeling Excursions
The Ocean Pro Dive Centre offers a 2 1/2 hour snorkeling excursion 5 days a week. We take you on a Maldivian dhoni (traditional boat) to 2 different reefs in the North Male Atoll.
Snorkeling equipment can be rented from the Ocean Pro Dive Centre or purchased at the Gift Shops. The Dive Centre also rents underwater cameras and other equipment for diving and snorkeling.
Meeru Diving
Allow yourself to glide through the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean discovering the beauty of the aquatic world! There is an interesting variety of courses from novice right through to expert courses that are not available everywhere. We are confident that at least one of these will fulfill your dreams! The Ocean-Pro Dive Team in Meeru welcomes all guests who not only want to enjoy the luxury of the beautiful dive sites around North Male Atoll, but are also looking for something special.
Meeru is surrounded by a big, beautiful lagoon. There is no typical house reef, so all dives are boat dives. The lagoon is home to a great variety of marine life, with interesting coral formations and colourful fish life in shallow water. It is perfect for snorkelers and for diver training.
PADI Courses
We offer the whole range of PADI courses from Beginner through to Divemaster level, plus a wide variety of Specialty courses too. Our three classrooms are fully air conditioned and equipped with TV/DVDs
Water Sports Centre
In addition to Snorkeling and Diving, there are a variety of other water sports for Meeru guests to enjoy. Some of these water sports include windsurfing, catamaran, kayaking, and glass bottom boat. Equipment can be rented and lessons can be booked at the Water Sports Centre.
Land Sports Facilities
Meeru has a variety of sports facilities, including lighted tennis courts, golf course (driving range, putting green and pitch & putt), bicycle rentals, badminton courts, fitness centre, beach volleyball, table tennis, billiards, darts, football field, and petanque.
Island Hopping
Southern North Male' Atoll
Visit 4 islands, including a typical local fishing island, a picnic island where you will enjoy a BBQ lunch including 1 soft drinks and have time to snorkel and swim, a resort island and a shopping island.
Kagi Island Excursion
Snorkeling Excursion to 2 islands, Eriyadhoo Island Resort and Kagi, an inhabited island where you will enjoy a BBQ lunch including 1 soft drink and have time to snorkel and swim. For swimmers only.
Dhiffushi Island Trip
Visit a nearby island and see how our neighbors live and work together in more of a traditional lifestyle. Shop for souvenirs in the local shops.
Love Boat Daysail Cruise
Enjoy a wonderful day sail aboard a classic motor sailor yacht. Sunbathe, snorkel, fish, and if you are lucky... photograph a group of dolphins and swim with manta rays... A buffet lunch, drinks, and a sunset cocktail are included.
Sunset Punch Cruise
Enjoy a late afternoon boat trip on a local Dhoni while watching a beautiful tropical sunset, with a glass of special punch in hand and if you're lucky, some dolphins may join in the fun!
Submarine Sightseeing Trip (45 Minute Dive)
