The Maldives....

The science bit….

Evoking images of soft white sands, crystal clear water and palm fringed islands; the Maldives is a true luxury beach escape. Consisting of two rows of atolls located within the Indian Ocean; The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in population and land area. It also has an average ground elevation of 1.5 meters above sea level and therefore is the planets lowest country.

Every Atoll is made of coral reef which encircles a lagoon; a number of islands raise above the waters just enough to create a perfect paradise, of clear calm waters, and pristine beaches that is The Maldives.

When to go….

The peak season for the Maldives is between November and April when the climate is drier, the seas are calmer and it is less windy. May to October tend to have higher rainfall and some cloud, however they still enjoy average temperatures of 30 degrees year round and plenty of sunshine. Rainfall in the Maldives tends to be in short and heavy bursts, that quickly disperse and back to sunshine again.
